Easter, 2006

Easter was a blast this year! We started out at church, then ran home for a little break before the festivities.
We took of for Papa and Grandmas to follow them to Auntie Karen's in Jackson for lunch. Karen throws a good party that's for sure! Ribs, shrimp, salads, beans, all sorts of goodies. Also some fun toys for the kids :) Alexis had a blast riding the quad!
Afterwards we drove back to Eaton Rapids to Papa and Lori's house. We had a massive easter egg hunt. Daniel found a few eggs but was most excited about the dog toy shaped like a hot dog he put in the basket hehe
Lori made a great dinner with ham, cheesy potatoes, and other fare. We got to meet Suzann's boyfriend Kurt, he seems like he'll fit in pretty well.
All in all it was a fun day!

what a week! Poor Alexis had the flu for a week and a half and finaly got so dehydrated monday morning she couldn't keep anything down. I took her into the Doctor and she had lost 2 1/2lbs in a WEEK! He admitted her into the hospital for IV hydration. So we were there untill Tuesday morning. I'm glad she's doing better! I got behind in my school work with all of us being sick at some point in the past few weeks so I've been playing catch up at night. Plus with Joe moving to Kansas this week I had to take time to go to Eaton rapids and pick up a bunch of stuff from his place too.
I did manage to get out for a fun night with Dad and Lori. We went to Springport to the Hotel Tavern for some great seafood and karaoke, I even had a Tom Collins ;)
We're having a big garage sale the first week of May, so mom and I spent all of Saturday pulling things out of the garage attic and basically pulling everything out of the front and back garages. No wonder I'm tired! :)
At least having the flu had it's advantages. Since I wasn't hungry for like 2 weeks I lost 14lbs. My dr put me on addipex since I'm always hungry! I can eat a full meal and feel hungry minutes later! Drives me nuts. So far it's working though. I just feel a little hungry before meals so that's great!
Daniel is going to be one year old on the 30th. I gave him his first haircut yesterday.

New Job(s)

New jobs! I work for EVE (End Violent Encounters) Inc as their administrative assistant but since it through school it's only 15 hours a week. BUT today I got a call from Diversified Medical Staffing, a company I worked for in 2004, and they want me back! They're even going to work around my job at EVE yahooo!
Ok, so I'm going to be busy with 2 jobs, 2 kids and school....but it's not forever and I know it's for the greater good of my family. Wish me luck!

DANIEL WALKED!!!

How exciting!! This morning at 8:10 am, Daniel took his first 3 steps!! He was so cute...whining for me to pick him up, so I held my hands out to him, just out of reach, and he stepped over to them! Alexis was there too althougth she didn't seem as excited about it as I was haha Can't wait to get pictures of it! Bye!!

too much to do!! Full time work but part time hours:) and now school too. PLUS can't forget the number one priority...the babies! They're both so wonderful, and it's hard work, but it is so worth it. Sometimes I wish I could go back to before I had kids and just be...laura! but even if my kids didn't live with me I'd still think about them all the time so actually I'd have to travel back in time to when I didn't HAVE kids. if I could do that...I'd finish school then haha aNYWAy 20 minutes to get to work, better get home and make sure the roast is ok in the slowcooker before I punch in. later kids

Work is keeping me so busy! I even came in yesterday, on what could have been a holiday because I have SO much to do--and I'm supposed to do it in 4 hours a day? Well, it's not happening. I am supposed to be there from 11-3, I haven't left at 3 once!! Closer to 4 most days. I have NO problem with that....I just hope they don't either.
NYE was a lot of fun at M iguel and Sarah Rodrigues' house. It was great to see all the old crew, I really miss seeing them every week. Its been 5 years since we would get together every friday night for euchre (or watching euchre since I hate playing it) and even longer since we would all go to the Nuthouse every Thursday. Maybe as the kids get bigger I'll feel more comfortable leaving them with sitters and actually go out sometime haha.
Daniel waved back at someone for the first time NYE, Bud walked up to him and waved with a silly grin and Daniel grinned back and flapped an arm at him! He also tried to take a step this morning.....getting close!!
Well, I've got limited time before work and I'm enrolling Alexis in a ballet class so she can be a princess (her words hehe). We were going to take karate, but they didn't have any saturday classes....maybe in summer :) Happy new year all!

New Job!

So I got offered a position today at Tendercare South to be their Nurse Scheduler! and I start tomorrow! yayayayay
