Alexis is 5!!

Alexis turned five years old today! After school we went to see SANTA! What a treat to get to see Santa on your birthday!



Daniel wasn't so thrilled, but Santa understood.





We had a great time at Chuck E. Cheese! We rode the roller coaster,

ate cotton candy (thanks junkfood Grandma!),

Gave hugs to the mouse himself,


And had a GREAT time with family!

Halloween Tricks

Tuesday was halloween! Alexis went dressed as Stephanie from Lazytown. She had a party at school, then all the kids had a big parade around the neighborhood. After picking up Daniel, we went to my Dad and Stepmoms. They live out in the sticks, so we were their only trick or treaters, but they still dressed up like mummies for us! After Papa and Lori's, we went to Papa and Grandmas for trick or treating with Aunti Karen, Mike, cousin Catie, her friend Erin and us! Things were going very well for about an hour, when the temp dropped sharply. Poor Daniel was freezing, even though he had on a shirt, jacket, flannel costume with hood, mittens and thick slipper shoes, and was making little cry noises, so I took him out of the stroller and stuck him in my shirt. He was still makeing little noises when all of the sudden, he made one BIG noise and PUKED ALL OVER ME. Couldn't believe it!So there we are....1/2 mile from my inlaws....i have to walk back, 21lbs of baby on my front along with milk, hot dog and the culprit Augmentin, all over my front. I thought Mike was going to be the next to throw up, while Karen was laughing so hard I though she might pee her pants. Trick for me!!! The treat came later after I had drove 30 minutes back to lansing, put Daniel and Alexis to bed, i finaly got to strip and take a shower. EW

Football Tragedy

So alexis and I went to Eaton Rapids homecoming game tonight....ouch

Alexis had fun which was good :) She sat with Uncle Doodoo and Catie, and snuggled with Papa when it started getting too cold. She got ahold of a pom pon and was shaking it in everyones face...and bopped one of Andys friends in the mouth! she was feisty around all those teens! Papa didn't help though, telling her to put Andy in a headlock and give him noogies hehe

Weekend fun!

This weekend we (me, gram, alexis and daniel) went to the Michigan Apple Festival at the Country Mill in Charlotte. We all had a blast, even though it rained a little. We had hot cider and donuts and watched a team of old ladies clogging, wandered the booths, even ran into some old friends running a booth! It was so nice to see them, and they made Alexis the prettiest bracelet! http://www.butlersbeauties.com/ Alexis got to pick out what beads she wanted, pic to come later. We took a 'train' out to the orchard and picked some delicious apples. Daniel even picked his own and chowed down on it, whole! It was just his size too. I took Alexis' picture in a bunch of those cut outs...she looked so funny

Ok, so i've been a lazy blogger
to catch you up, school has started for me and for Alexis
Alexis has really enjoyed school so far and has started teaching me chinese words already!

Daniel, without Alexis at day care, has started talking more and he also officially has 10 teeth now!
I've started my transcription class and also intro to human disease and I have a new job that starts monday :)

Labor day

Happy Labor Day! this weekend has been pretty low-key, no big plans, except we're going to Miguel and Saras for a bbq in a bit. After naptime of course! I think I'm finaly healing, got some of my old zip back saturday. Sunday did some mad grilling. Grilled a skirt steak with a grainy mustard and lemon juice marinade, lemon pepper white fish, onions, spiral and curly potatoes, apples with brown sugar, raisins and cinnamon...mmmm.....

I am gallbladderless

Surgery is done, it was a success! The only glitch was they had to make the incisions a little bigger than they thought they were going to have to, so instead of just steristrips, I got STAPLES yikes! I'm so sore! I did get some interesting pictures of the surgery though. AnywayI think I'm going to try and take a shower. :)

Haircut

We went and got Daniel's hair cut today, now Alexis is telling me she wants her hair cut short haha He did such a good job, only a few tears! And he looks so handsome now :)
Tomorrow at noon is my surgery, I'll be glad to get it over with. Now if I can just keep the kids from jumping on me for a few days.....

Goodbye ghetto house!!

So I go back to get the rest of my stuff from Ghetto house, and of course, it's been defiled again. That was the last day I held the lease on it, I'm glad!! This time, whoever was in there was throwing my pretty dishes out the second story window. Luckily they didn't throw too many. They also stole my mailbox again.
August 11 I get my gall bladder out. whoopee! I'm hoping they'll take pity on me and let me stay the night since I have two little ones who love to jump on Mom. Plus, I don't have a recliner to sleep in. We'll see. :)

Ghetto house defiled AGAIN!

So I go to check my mail at the ghetto house today...it's been broken in to AGAIN!! So I call the police-again. This time they stole a plunger, toilet paper and my MAIL BOX. Zoinks. That place sucks. Plus my upstairs window was still open so now there are a bunch of pinecones, sticks, rocks and even a basketball up there. Suckers, i'm keeping the ball.

Ghetto house defiled

Someone broke into my dang ghetto house! can you believe it? I had been stopping by once a weeek or so to check the mail and i noticed my upstairs window was open. so I go up to the front door and the screen is missing! The door was still locked, but when I opened it I saw that the back door was open. Now I had locked that door and the back screen door too. So I went outside and called the police. They came and made sure no one was in the upstairs or downstairs. All they stole was my MOP. Thats right....my MOP. Since they had left my upstairs window open people had been throwing rocks and trash into my bedroom. In the kitchen they had spilled tobacco all over the floor, ashed on my counter and used my stove as an ash tray. They didn't take my broom that was sitting right there, they could have swept up. Yah so I'm glad I didn't move in there. Plus there are still bugs, I got a letter the bug guys were coming to spray today. dang. The whole complex looks like there was a riot there this weekend, trash everywhere.

In the ghetto.....

Decided not to move...way too ghetto for me. the townhouse was great....area, not so much. I'm back with the temp agency so every day...i might work, i might not. I hope i get steady work SOON this is driving me nuts. I got new pics of the kids taken, they're so darn cute!

Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day! The kids and I had a great time today, we went and saw Over The Hedge, definatly a kids movie but it has it's moments. Then we were off to a bbq at Mig and Sarah's-always a good time! I wish we could get together more often...everyone is so busy now! We used to go out at least once a week, now it's more like once a quarter haha
Ah well, jobs kids school keep us all busy!
Back to the salt mines tomorrow, I think my butt gets a little wider each week from just sitting there on the computer all day. i need like a treadmill or eliptical thing there maybe i'd start fitting into my pre-kid apparel. It's been 4 years.....i don't think it's baby fat anymore;)

Well I'm still doing the 2 jobs and school and it's musical time so it's busy busy! But the musical is done sunday so that's a little relief. Plus this week is Alexis' last dance class so we'll have a few saturdays free until a new class starts. She says she wants to take a spanish class! I really hope I can find one for her that I can afford.
Daniel is as sweet as ever, talking more and more! He loves the little sesame street couch Alexis got for Christmas a few years ago. He just climbs all over it!
I really do love both my jobs, I hope they last for awhile. The one I'm at most is supposed to be done in June, but I'm not sure. There are thousands of documents left to go through!
I love it at EVE too, nice small office and I do my job well.

Easter, 2006

Easter was a blast this year! We started out at church, then ran home for a little break before the festivities.
We took of for Papa and Grandmas to follow them to Auntie Karen's in Jackson for lunch. Karen throws a good party that's for sure! Ribs, shrimp, salads, beans, all sorts of goodies. Also some fun toys for the kids :) Alexis had a blast riding the quad!
Afterwards we drove back to Eaton Rapids to Papa and Lori's house. We had a massive easter egg hunt. Daniel found a few eggs but was most excited about the dog toy shaped like a hot dog he put in the basket hehe
Lori made a great dinner with ham, cheesy potatoes, and other fare. We got to meet Suzann's boyfriend Kurt, he seems like he'll fit in pretty well.
All in all it was a fun day!

what a week! Poor Alexis had the flu for a week and a half and finaly got so dehydrated monday morning she couldn't keep anything down. I took her into the Doctor and she had lost 2 1/2lbs in a WEEK! He admitted her into the hospital for IV hydration. So we were there untill Tuesday morning. I'm glad she's doing better! I got behind in my school work with all of us being sick at some point in the past few weeks so I've been playing catch up at night. Plus with Joe moving to Kansas this week I had to take time to go to Eaton rapids and pick up a bunch of stuff from his place too.
I did manage to get out for a fun night with Dad and Lori. We went to Springport to the Hotel Tavern for some great seafood and karaoke, I even had a Tom Collins ;)
We're having a big garage sale the first week of May, so mom and I spent all of Saturday pulling things out of the garage attic and basically pulling everything out of the front and back garages. No wonder I'm tired! :)
At least having the flu had it's advantages. Since I wasn't hungry for like 2 weeks I lost 14lbs. My dr put me on addipex since I'm always hungry! I can eat a full meal and feel hungry minutes later! Drives me nuts. So far it's working though. I just feel a little hungry before meals so that's great!
Daniel is going to be one year old on the 30th. I gave him his first haircut yesterday.

New Job(s)

New jobs! I work for EVE (End Violent Encounters) Inc as their administrative assistant but since it through school it's only 15 hours a week. BUT today I got a call from Diversified Medical Staffing, a company I worked for in 2004, and they want me back! They're even going to work around my job at EVE yahooo!
Ok, so I'm going to be busy with 2 jobs, 2 kids and school....but it's not forever and I know it's for the greater good of my family. Wish me luck!

DANIEL WALKED!!!

How exciting!! This morning at 8:10 am, Daniel took his first 3 steps!! He was so cute...whining for me to pick him up, so I held my hands out to him, just out of reach, and he stepped over to them! Alexis was there too althougth she didn't seem as excited about it as I was haha Can't wait to get pictures of it! Bye!!

too much to do!! Full time work but part time hours:) and now school too. PLUS can't forget the number one priority...the babies! They're both so wonderful, and it's hard work, but it is so worth it. Sometimes I wish I could go back to before I had kids and just be...laura! but even if my kids didn't live with me I'd still think about them all the time so actually I'd have to travel back in time to when I didn't HAVE kids. if I could do that...I'd finish school then haha aNYWAy 20 minutes to get to work, better get home and make sure the roast is ok in the slowcooker before I punch in. later kids

Work is keeping me so busy! I even came in yesterday, on what could have been a holiday because I have SO much to do--and I'm supposed to do it in 4 hours a day? Well, it's not happening. I am supposed to be there from 11-3, I haven't left at 3 once!! Closer to 4 most days. I have NO problem with that....I just hope they don't either.
NYE was a lot of fun at M iguel and Sarah Rodrigues' house. It was great to see all the old crew, I really miss seeing them every week. Its been 5 years since we would get together every friday night for euchre (or watching euchre since I hate playing it) and even longer since we would all go to the Nuthouse every Thursday. Maybe as the kids get bigger I'll feel more comfortable leaving them with sitters and actually go out sometime haha.
Daniel waved back at someone for the first time NYE, Bud walked up to him and waved with a silly grin and Daniel grinned back and flapped an arm at him! He also tried to take a step this morning.....getting close!!
Well, I've got limited time before work and I'm enrolling Alexis in a ballet class so she can be a princess (her words hehe). We were going to take karate, but they didn't have any saturday classes....maybe in summer :) Happy new year all!
